Can I get microblading?

As much as we all would love to have microblading, for some people it’s not appropriate. This can be for a number of medical reasons, for example if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, if you are undergoing radiation therapy or chemotherapy. If you take certain prescription drugs such as blood thinners, anticoagulants or steroids then you also are unfortunately able to get microblading. There are a number of conditions that would mean you aren’t a suitable candidate for microblading, I’ll list some of these below:

  • Cancer

  • Hyper pigmentation

  • Lupus Skin Disorder

  • Haemophilia

  • Epilepsy

  • Untreated High blood pressure

Microblading also isn’t suitable for people who have excessively oily skin. Basically the reason behind this is: if your skin is too oily, then the excessive oils that occur naturally in your skin push the pigment out - so your new beautiful brows won’t heal very well, sometimes completely disappearing!

If you have slightly oily skin, then you could go for microshading which heals better on this type of skin rather than microbladed strokes.

It’s also worth noting, I perform a patch test for microblading so if you do react to the patch test then we wouldn’t be able to go head with the treatment.

If you would like to know more information on contra-indications or whether mmicroblading is right for you, please contact me.
